This fairytale landscape, with views out to sea, Friuli and Veneto, has a special, magical power. Brda, a land of hills nestled halfway between the Alps and the Adriatic, preserves and develops its traditions, protects its beauties and provides beneficial effects that can be experienced and felt by everyone who comes to these places. In Brda, where juicy Brda fruit ripens, excellent wines flourish and delicious Brda food is served, you can step into verdant vineyards and orchards and find your peace among the Brda trellises.
We invite you to choose from a wide variety of hiking trails, including 9 magical circular cherry blossom trails, the Gradnik trail, the scenic Alpe Adria Trail and the Juliana Trail. You are also invited to discover the wonderful hiking trails that stretch along the ridge of the stunning Sabotin, which was important during the First World War.
In 2025, we added the Cross-Border Martinus Circle – a 240 km circular hiking trail starting and ending in Hrušica, part of the official Great European Cultural Route of St. Martin connecting Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, and France.
We would like to inform you that the Drugmbernca and Čmpevka trails remain closed until the bridge below Snežeče has been constructed.
The Alpe Adria Trail also remains closed for the time being due to the mentioned bridge construction and a landslide before Kožbana. The issue will be addressed by rerouting the trail before Kožbana directly to Hlevnik and then continuing along the established route to Kozlink. From there, it will be temporarily diverted directly to Medana and will then continue along the regular route (until the bridge is built). The rerouting is expected to be carried out in January.
The Črnica trail is open, although signposts along the River need to be repaired.
All other trails are open.
